The international agency
Nantes Saint-Nazaire, a shared strategy tool

The International Agency Nantes Saint-Nazaire was created jointly by Nantes Métropole, the CCI of Nantes Saint-Nazaire and the town of Saint-Nazaire in early 2011. Its objective is to develop international awareness of the City. The city, Nantes Saint-Nazaire, carries strong values of off-beat creativity, controlled development and working together.  It intends to communicate these advantages in order to appeal to international students and researchers, to attract more tourists, but also organisers of conventions and events, and to persuade investors and convince business leaders and the talented to move here. To do this, the international agency chose a brand ("Nantes") and a signature ("Just Imagine").

An ideal ecosystem for innovation and originality

The capital of western France, in the heart of the dynamic Pays de la Loire region, nurtures bold and confident innovative projects. One of the major stakes is to turn the area into an international economic space open to the rest of the world but also to preserve its industrial activities, to enhance the competitiveness clusters and encourage the development of the technological niches and emerging sectors. This productive territory is the place where entrepreneurs can display their originality and imagination.

A development under control

The economic development in Nantes Saint-Nazaire is balanced and diversified. Facing the challenges of globalization and demographic evolutions – with more than 800,000 inhabitants today – one the major stakes for the metropolis is to make sure this development sustains and respects the living environment and quality of life.

This is the basis for many restructuring projects: the Ile de Nantes – the largest rehabilitation of industrial wasteland in Europe –, the new port and airport infrastructures and the expansion of new companies… and this is what will make Nantes Saint-Nazaire one of the biggest European urban centers of tomorrow.

Working all together

The idea of gathering all the energies on common projects is an old tradition: operational networks have been set up and solidarity is an essential feature in the common projects undertaken in the area. The prospective study Nantes Saint-Nazaire 2030, along with projects such as “My City tomorrow” and “Destinations 2030” invite the population to debate and reflect upon the forthcoming evolutions in the area.
